Uncertainty is not linear. At the beginning of a project or task, a lot is uncertain. Paradoxically, as you move forward and the first solutions might not work, the uncertainty might increase. However, there is a point of progress past which solutions starts being validated, the plan starts to form up and, the more you progress on the task, the less uncertainty you have.
