general tips

Use a "cold trap". Platform where you sleep should always be higher than the entrancs of the shelter.

Use equipment. Skis can be used as beams. Backpacks as doors.

Keep some ventilation, to avoid condensation to drip on you.

Snow quarry: To create snow blocks, stomp an area of snow before shoveling it.

snow cave

Made by digging into the slope. Avoid avalanche terrain. Dig from below to create the cold trap.

digloo

Create a snow mound, then hollow it out from below to create the entrance. When the snow quarry and entrance are ready, hollow out from the top. Cover the top by building an igloo from the blocks.
