idea

There are four reasons behind our behaviours. It can be useful to understand what the reason is in order to correct a behaviour:

  1. Attention: trying to grab someone's attention (e.g shouting for you to pay attention)
  2. Escape: trying to avoid something (e.g. run away to avoid taking a bath)
  3. Access: trying to access to something (e.g. screaming at you to get candy)
  4. Sensory stimulation: trying to get some kind of internal sensation (e.g. mountain biking to get adrenaline)

In general behaviour are either to get something or to avoid something.
