It is getting harder for middle classes to grow in the socioeconomic ladder, executives are getting more and more elitist, and at the same time ladders disappear (eg Uber, lower ratios of managers -> employees).

Natural selection is only partially happening in modern capitalism (which, is not actually capitalism as it turns out). On one side it happens due to the literal passing of "desirable qualities" (money) from one generation to the next, and due to the extreme fitness of leading conglomerate, eradicating competition. On the other, little variability is ever introduced anymore, and competition is getting ever slower due to hyper consolidation of money.
