Be ready to walk out, and now what things you are not ready to accept.
Don't tell a salesman that you will pay cash, or they will try to bump up the price to make up for the lesser financing cashback. Keep the discussion about financing separate from the car negotiation, tell them you want to discuss that only with the financing person once you found something suitable. Always have a large down-payment, finance over 36 months max.
Factor in taxes and all fees like documentation fees. If they add costs at the last minute then tell you are lowering you offer by that much.
